Privacy policy

This policy explains what Redacted Browser collects on redactedbrowser.com and in the application, and why.

On this website

• Server logs: the pages you request, your IP address and browser type, kept for a short period for security and capacity planning.
• Forms: when you ask for a download link, join a waitlist or contact us, we store the email address and message you give us so that we can reply. We do not sell or share these addresses.
• Click counts: we count clicks on download and pricing buttons to understand what visitors need. These counts are not tied to a person.
• No advertising trackers are loaded by default. If we enable web analytics, IP addresses are anonymized.

In the application

• Your workspace: your name, email address, password hash, and the profiles, groups and proxies you create. Proxy passwords are stored for the purpose of connecting and are never shown back in full.
• Profile state: when you stop a profile, its browser state is saved to your workspace so that it can be restored later. It is encrypted before it is stored and belongs to you.
• Launch records: to authorize a launch, the application exchanges signed records with the service. These describe the software build and the device identity, not your browsing.
• We do not see the websites you visit inside a profile.

Where data is stored

The service runs on hosting infrastructure in the United States. Backups are kept for disaster recovery.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to remove your email from any list, at any time through the contact page. Deleting a workspace removes its profiles and stored state.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and, for workspace owners, by email.
